Arla and AFMP have informed members that the trough incentive scheme will operate throughout the 2009 autumn trough.
The scheme will be available during the months of September, October and November and the 5ppl incentive payment will be calculated on the additional litres of milk supplied each month, compared with the actual volume supplied during the same month in 2008.
The 2009 scheme is designed to encourage expansion and benefit members who have increased their volumes over the previous year’s production level.
Commenting on the decision to continue with the scheme in 2009, Arla’s deputy CEO, Hanne Søndergaard said: “ We have taken on board feedback from members and have announced the scheme earlier this year to give members sufficient time to plan ahead in order to fully benefit from this potential additional income.
Partnership chairman, Jonathan Ovens added: “The 2008 scheme proved successful with one third of the membership receiving a trough incentive payment. I am pleased that we have confirmed to members that the scheme will run again in 2009 and, hopefully, with additional further notice given this year, members will be able to plan ahead more effectively to fully maximise the benefit.”
